Is it possible for an instructor to upload a student's assignment in Canvas for that student?

I have a student with difficulty uploading into Canvas, and he has emailed his essay to me. Is it possible for I as an instructor to upload this essay in his Canvas slot?

Unfortunately, the answer is no.  There is a feature idea out there for this https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1124-submit-an-assignment-on-behalf-of-a-student .
