Is it possible for students to upload a power point for others to see and comment in Discussions?

I want my students to share their power point presentation for classmates to look at and comment on. Is Discussions the place to do that?

@jstaveviemeiste ‌, yes, discussions would be an ideal place for this. The instructor needs to double-check the settings on discussions in the course to make sure that students do have the ability to attach files to their discussion posts (that ability is enabled by default, but some instructors turn it off).

If you want students to be able to view the PowerPoints without having to download them, instruct them on how to embed their files for auto-open preview. That will not provide a fully-featured PowerPoint presentation in the display, but will make it easier for students and teachers alike to absorb the replies. *edited to remove this, as students don't have the auto-open preview that instructors do. Instead, ask them to upload the pptx document directly to the body of the reply rather than attaching it; the former process allows the reader to click on the preview icon to display the PowerPoint, but does not offer a fully-featured PowerPoint presentation. That would require downloading the files and opening them in PowerPoint.
