Is it possible to house movies on my course Canvas page?

Jump to solution

I teach Othello each semester. It would be helpful if I could have several versions of the movie on Canvas so that I could mark the time of each act and scene for the students to easily find soliloquies and other key passages. Right now I have to lug all the DVDs to class and cannot expect the students to access the films at home.

Hi, Norman. You might be able to find some materials on a video site like YouTube. That way, you can link to existing online materials, which is legal. However, uploading and hosting full films online raises some copyright issues.

I hope that helps!

If you had short clips to show your students you could easily capture them in ARC Media and tag them for your students... even have a short interactive discussion. @Dallas E Hulsey  @Norman Minnick
