Is there a way to sort/title things to make it easy to find a particular page, quiz, or assignment?

What is the best way to title things to be able to sort a semester's or year's worth assignments, pages and quizzes so that it is easy to find which one you want to add as a link to a page?

I wish there was an "archive" feature so I could group things together (like I can assignments for the gradebook view) and not have to see and scroll through the full list of pages, quizzes, and assignments every time I want to add a link to the class checklist.

Any advice? Tips? Solutions?
