Limit Student Inboxes

Is there a way to limit a student's inbox messaging to only be able to message teachers and only receive messages from teachers?

talk to administrators.  Our students cannot message each other as long as the People tab is hidden, i believe.

Howdy,

There is a course level permission that can be set by role to allow/disallow sending messages to course individuals. If the permission is disabled, the role (students in this case) can only send messages to teachers and TA's or custom roles built off those roles.

Hello! I am new to the community. Can you tell where this setting is at the course level? Canvas support is saying there's not a way to limit who students can message. And we do have the people tab hidden. Thanks!
