Link to Course Documents not working

In a page, I linked a document to a file located in the Course Files. However, when the students click on it they receive an Acess Denied message. I too see the same message from the student view, however when I click the link from the Instructor view it works. Is there a setting I need to adjust to allow students to access the Course Files?

Hi  @mero_kasondra ‌, Perhaps you haven't published the file.  Go to Files, find it, and make sure it's published.

There are a couple of things to check:

1. Are there any restrictions on the File that you linked to? https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12771-415241391 

2. Is the page or the file part of a Module that is unpublished or not available to the students?

 @mero_kasondra ‌, an additional suggestion in addition to the great ones above: The Link Validator (How do I validate links in a course? ) will show you exactly where problems of this type are located in your course.
