A lot of our faculty uses the LockDown Browser iPad app for quizzing in Canvas. Some issues are experienced during each quiz. I'm curious if anyone else is (or has) experiencing these issue. If so, what did you do to correct the issues? I'm sure a lot of the issues are the result of using a third-party app to access a Canvas quiz, but I have to cover my bases. 🙂
Unfortunately, these issues occur sporadically, so there's no real pattern to report to Respondus.
shouts@maryville.edu, as your post is unlikely to elicit a single answer that one could consider uniquely "correct," I've changed the format to a discussion. I've also shared it with the Higher Education and K-12 groups to enhance its visibility among likely Respondus LockDown Browser users.
While we do not us the LDB app, I want to suggest a work-around while you investigate.
Our building uses guided access to "lock" students into quizzes on their iPads. It does take some time to set up (selecting the portions of the screen to disable and then entering a code), but several teachers have had luck with that approach.
Thank you Kristin. I'll float that idea. A lot of our students should have Guided Access set up because it's required for the LDB app.
