My students are unable to access the modules section on canvas. It says teacher view only and has an eye icon with a slash through it from my view. How do i disable this so that my students can see my modules?

The slashed eye icon indicates that a course navigation item is hidden from students, so that's an easy fix: follow the instructions in How do I manage Course Navigation links? to enable the Modules item in students' navigation menus. (Don't forget to click Save before leaving the Settings area!)
