Notification Email Formatting

When an announcement is sent to a class it is currently set up so they all receive a notification email of the new announcement. However, I have noticed that the notification email's formatting does not follow the formatting of the original announcement. Also, if there are any images in the announcement these do not show in the notification email. Is there any way of changing this so the notification email keeps the formatting of the original announcement? And also that pictures are visible in the email as well? Many thanks!

 @harriet1 ‌, you've described how notification emails of announcements are currently formatted, and as you've correctly observed, the notification emails do not carry over the images or formatting of the announcement.
