Can paired observers see submitted work? For example, could this observer see a Google Doc submitted by a student they are paired with?

Should be able to, yes.

With Google assignments, that may not necessarily always true. It depends on the sharing settings on the individual document too. If the submitted document is only shared with the teacher, it would likely remain locked for the observer. I'm not sure how the new Google Assignments reacts to this, but I have seen this be the case when a Google item is submitted using the URL option.

Okay...thanks. I know Google Docs need to be shared to the observer as well. The paired observer is telling me that she can't see the student's submitted assignments at all.
