Step 5 states "Login to the app through Google." Does that mean that the parents are required to create a Google account? We, too, use Google authentication for students/staff. Our parents who are using the Parent App are now being presented with a Google login window. How can they become a Canvas Observer using a Comcast.net email address?

Hi! It may be possible to bypass this with the Canvas Parent app if they area able to sign-in through the browser and then use the QR code for the app. 

How do I view a QR code to log in to the Canvas mobile apps as an observer?
