Photo Submissions won't load

When I go to check student photo submissions, many of them won't load.  I just get the blue spinning circle.  I have to go to the right, download the image, open the download and it all takes longer than I want or think it should.  Am I doing something wrong, or is there a better way for me to tell my students to upload their photos.  They are elementary students, fairly new to Canvas.

This is an ongoing issue, both on our end as instructors, but more importantly, on the students' end when they try to submit! Especially during a timed quiz! And especially on the student app. Canvas, please do something to fix this ♥️
