We're using PowerTeacher Pro for our SIS and we're working on retraining teachers to import their categories rather than type matching names into the Assignment Groups. We're seeing issues with PowerTeacher not sending categories that have been created in the recent past.
I found one document from Instructure that mentions a 24 hour waiting period, but I wanted to know if there was a setting in PTP that would override that hold on new categories being validated or if that timeframe is something shorter from others with more experience than myself.

For anyone also looking, it's a setting in PowerSchool that we have no control over. If you're working with teachers, we've changed out workflow each semester to make sure teachers set up their PowerSchool grade books first to avoid wait periods later in the semester.
