Hi bergric@uwplatt.edu

We have Office365 integration and OneDrive.

I found a file in my OneDrive and clicked on the Share button (top right)

In the Share options I was able to select Block download.

Once I pressed Apply I pressed the Copy Link button to get the link.

I then added the link to a Module through the External Link settings and Load in New Tab option

Going on as a different user I opened the file to see this:

If I click on File there are no options to save/download/print:

Obviously the file does not play as a PowerPoint and you have to select Play from the Slideshow options:

So I then thought, what happens if you now add this through the External Tool feature of the Office365 integration....

So I added it through the external tool:

To add to the Module:

When I clicked on the link to open it and download a copy:

I could download it -

This sort of makes sense as the link is the original file not to the link I created with the Share rules.

That said it would be REALLY COOL if Microsoft included this as part of their Office365 integration with Canvas Canvas User Group: Office 365

I did some more digging and found this page:

If you scroll down to the post by James R. Henson, he provides a fix that seems to work.
