Program Assessment; how do you name assessments or collections to account for multiple years?

Hello,
We're just getting started with Program Assessment and have set up assessments for each course in our general ed curriculum we want to assess. Within each assessment we have collections for each learning outcome addressed in that course. I'm realizing that this summer when we pull artifacts into a collection, do the review and report out on the results it'll be just for a single academic year. The next summer we'll want to do it again. My thought is our collections need to be named not just for the learning outcome but also the academic year so we don't intermingle work from multiple academic years. Is this what others do? Or have others set up their assessment differently? I'm really curious if there is a better way to structure this.
