mebrown@mpsaz.org‌ a section is a cohort of users in your course, for example if you teach a class in two different timeslots, you may have one section for your morning students and one for your afternoon students (at least at my university this is how it works). Depending on the permissions in your Canvas instance, you may or may not be able to edit sections. How do I add a section to a course as an instructor?

A module is your key to organizing the content in the course. It allows you to give structure to your content, and organize it into manageable chunks such as weeks, units, topics, etc. See https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10735-what-are-modules for some documentation
