Social learning-post submissions for all to see

Jump to solution

Help! I'm new to Canvas and trying to design a course, but having some difficulty with features. Is there a way to publish all (or some) assignments after a due date for everyone in the class to see? I imagine two ways this could work:

  1. Taking the submissions of a few students who produced high quality work on a particular assignment, and posting them for everyone to see. This allows weaker students to have a model that is student-generated.
  2. Posting all answers so students can learn from one another's submissions. This is tied to an assignment where students are asked to post a video/image/etc that represents a concept, and I imagine each will have some interesting perspective to enrich the learning of others.

 @jdubas , here's what I came up with!

1. Taking the submissions of a few students who produced high quality work on a particular assignment, and posting them for everyone to see. This allows weaker students to have a model that is student-generated.

For this one, you could create a page with the student's submissions on it (either copied/pasted or you could add the file to the page) and then either link it to the assignment or put it on the Modules page. So not straightforward, but definitely doable.

2. Posting all answers so students can learn from one another's submissions. This is tied to an assignment where students are asked to post a video/image/etc that represents a concept, and I imagine each will have some interesting perspective to enrich the learning of others.

For this there are two possibilities that I can think of:

Peer Review for Assignments

For this, you could assign every student the ability to review everyone else in the course. They could then look at everyone's work, comment on it, and if you want even fill out a rubric.

Discussion

Just make this assignment  where the students post their work in a discussion. That way not only could everyone see what everyone else posted, they could comment on what other students posted, and see what other people said.

Hope this helps!
