Speedgrader annotations vanished from 1 student submission?

Jump to solution

I've heard of people having issues previously with annotations disappearing from Speedgrader and have never had an issue myself until today.  A student contacted me asking if I could send over their feedback comments as their view is no longer showing the comments and they have a resub to prepare for.  After going into canvas to take a look I can see that all of the in-line annotations (which consisted of highlight and point marker) have vanished from the submission.  These were absolutely fine last week when the student met with me to discuss them.

I have checked the rest of my cohort work and everything else looks fine still.  I am at a loss of how to assist the student as I do not have time to go back through the full submission and re-comment.  All marking was done on Chrome via a windows PC and have been accessed absolutely fine on my office PC which also uses Chrome.

Urgent advice needed.

r.daly@hull.ac.uk, greetings! I apologize that your question has been sitting here for so long without a response. Were you ever able to find/get back the missing annotations? If not, then I would recommend contacting Canvas Support. You can do this by clicking on the Help link in Canvas and Reporting a Problem. Canvas Support is pretty great and is/are normally the go-to people when experiencing this type of issue because they can get into your actual course to help diagnose the issue. We in the Community aren't able to do that.
