Starting or opening a Quiz

How do I know that a student opened the assessment?

When I go to moderate it states that the student is in progress, but it is days after the assessment.

Under view log I can see: A date and time, Elapsed time: 00:00, Event details: System details captured.

It also states: Session still in progress

Does it mean that the student opened the assessment and could see the questions, but never submitted it? Opened and let the time run out?

I had another student who states that they have not completed the assessment:

For this student, I got the following information under "View Log"

Elapsed time: 00:00 > System details captured

Elapsed time: 24:31:23 > System details captured

What does it all mean?

It was a timed assessment. 50 minutes. 

I don't want students opening a test to see the questions and then claim that they haven't opened the assessment and there must be something wrong with the computer or there is something wrong on my side.

Please assist.

I have exactly the same problem. I was offering a quiz and realized that some of my students have also taking a snapshot (System details captured). I'm afraid this can allow them to copy the questions for other students to see.

I am seeing the same thing in a quiz. It is difficult to tell if closed the quiz at the "Until date" or if it let them use up their full hour. This is in New Quizzes, so I can't tell if it is functioning as should.
