Student View: Differentiated Discussion

Ahoy,

Someone check me on this because my Test Student view can't actually test what I need it to. If I have differentiated discussions with specific "assign to", in this case it's by Section, I know that students won't see  a column in their gradebook for the discussion they're not a part of. I know it won't show on their course summary or calendar, either. However, do they see that such a discussion exists on the Discussion page?

I've got a funny feeling that they might be able to see the discussion in the list. However it is possible to hide the Discussions page from students if that works for you?

Danke! Fortunately, we do hide this index page from students. I have to teach faculty/admin what students see very precisely and the behavior of sections, so I'm covering my bases. I'm going to see if we can create enough test student dummy accounts for me to show what I need. I'll keep you posted if it works!
