I use BigBlueButton conferences for my virtual classes.
I have one student who can't see any chat features on the left side of the screen. I thought she might just need to click "Public Chat," but there was nothing there. She shared her screen so that I could confirm. She said this was on her laptop, but I don't have any further details at the moment.
Any idea what's going?

Hmm ... do you by chance have a screen shot of the incident?
Going forward, if it happens again, have the student refresh their browser - they will log back into the session in about 3 seconds - and they should see the chat.
