Can you make a Studio recording while on Zoom?

Hello there, @Carrie9 ...

I'm a little curious about your question.  When in Zoom, what would you like to do within Studio to make a recording?  Zoom does have recording capabilities which would allow you to record a video of yourself, or you could even record your desktop (or whatever software you wanted to show to your students).  I've seen our own faculty use Zoom in this way.  You could then save that Zoom recording (usually downloaded as a *.mp4 file) and then upload it to your Studio library and embed it into any of the courses you teach in Canvas.

Do you think using Zoom recording tools would work for your needs?  Looking forward to hearing back from you soon...thanks!  Take care, stay safe, and be well.

I am trying to find a way to get the videos recorded during my class processed and posted to Canvas as quickly as possible. When I use the Zoom recording, the recording does not begin processing the video until I end the meeting. At the end of the morning, or afternoon session, it sometimes takes a long time.

Hello @Carrie9 ...

I have never tried using Studio to record a Zoom meeting.  To be honest, this sounds a bit complicated, and I'm not even sure if it would work or not.  I also don't know if using Studio to record a Zoom meeting would somehow delay or distort the audio/video quality.  I understand the need to get your recordings distributed quickly, but Studio also needs some time to process recorded videos.  For videos I've recorded via Studio (for example, when I am sharing my screen to explain something), I've found that the video quality isn't stellar until a day later.  I believe this is because Studio just needs some additional time to fully process the quality of the video so it doesn't appear pixelated and/or blurry.  If possible, you may be better off just waiting for Zoom to give you a link to the recording.  I'm sure that your recordings from Zoom are sitting in a queue...waiting to be processed...since Zoom is widely used throughout the world.

Hope this helps a bit...
