What does it mean when I cant find the assignment tab when looking at my courses?

I am looking on my canvas and looking at my courses, however I am unable to find the assignment tab. Does that mean that the assignment has not been posted yet?

Welcome to the Canvas Community!

It means that there are no assignments available in the course or that the instructor has hidden the Assignments tool and is providing access to the assignments in a different manner.  I would recommend contacting your instructor for more information regarding course specific questions like the one above.
