What happens to Outcomes attached to deleted rubrics

We have University-level outcomes, and I have admin access to implement one of these outcomes across all programs. The outcome seems to work and I have started getting data, however it’s unclear what would happen to our outcome data if faculty delete the rubric that the outcome was attached to.
I know that if you delete a rubric, it deletes associated assessments - I’ve seen posts on this forum where faculty are reassured that this won’t impact their current course; but what about any attached outcome assessment? Faculty may not be using old assessments on closed courses, but the institution still needs to report on this data after the end of the course.
What’s the best practice for protecting global outcome data so our outcomes aren’t lost if faculty delete old rubrics?
