When will Canvas generate global edit options across and within courses?

When is Canvas going to allow faculty to make global edits, either within a course, or across courses? An example of the former would be one announcement that you could send across all courses. An example of the latter would be to set a due date for one or more students across multiple assessments. 

Given the way Canvas works for LACCD faculty, neither sort of global action is allowed. I'm perplexed about why this is the case, since such settings would seem a no-brainer. This has been an issue for me for some time, but given our current (and likely longterm) situation, I would rather spend my time on substantive issues, not, e.g., copying, pasting, and posting the same announcement across five courses!

I only have suggestions but nothing definitive. The global announcements thing could be something that your Canvas Admin at LACCD could work through a solution for you especially if your five courses are all the same/similar.

Meanwhile the bulk adjust the dates thing is coming in the Jun 20 Canvas Release. It may not work the way you want it to because it seems that one or more students would have to have been differentiated on the assignment in the first place. But I think, again your Canvas Admin at LACCD can help you troubleshoot the workflow if there are a consistently a subset of students who need different due dates.

Hi, Shar. Many thanks! Your reply is both helpful and heartening!

I'll look out for the update you mention, and I'll get with my college's admin. to discuss these items further. (She's awesome!) When we first adopted Canvas, we were making lists of things we'd like to see for, e.g., efficiency, but I never followed up. Given how hectic things have been for everyone helping to move entirely online in a hurry, I thought it best to wait...
