Which module organization works best for elementary distance learning, weekly, daily, or subject?

I am brand new to Canvas and I don't want to set up in a way that will be confusing for my students and parents. Last Spring I organized Google Classroom classwork by subject, though I saw others who organized by day. I'm curious how teachers who have used Canvas (which our district is requiring us to switch to) for ELEMENTARY distance learning have decided to organize modules, by week, by day, by subject, or other? Please help as my students arrive on August 12. Thank you!!
