Why are students getting a message that an assignment is missing?

Students are getting an assignment missing message even though grades are entered for the assignment.  The column with the grades is shaded pink.

This simply means that the assignment was set up for a submission and nothing was actually submitted.

If the students did not actually need to upload an actual file, you can change the setting to No submission and the "missing" will be removed.
