students answer change after submitting

I am an instructor and for one of the multiple choices questions, one of my students told me after she submitting the answer, the canvas changed her answer, for example previously before submitting the she chose 2.5 and she did not choose 2.0, but after submitting, it shows that she chose 2.0 instead of 2.5, I am not sure why is that happened? Thank you very much!

If this was a multiple choice item type, then I suspect that all that happened was the student started scrolling without clicking out of the question area, and it scrolled to a different option.

It happens and it is rare.
