Any idea why PowerSchool is not adding all students to Canvas?

I recently took over  as Canvas Admin. Good news is that more teachers are starting to jump onboard with Canvas. The bad news is that I am getting bombed with a lot of students who are not in Canvas. I thought these were simply transfer students from other schools, but I am noticing students who have been in district for years also being effected. 

I was taught to manually add these student to Canvas, but I now see that If I add them manually, their grades will not push over. I was told that PowerSchool should automatically create these accounts. Any ideas why this is not happening  for some students?

Thanks for the help. It looks like 92 students did not have email addresses in PowerSchool. I believe this could be the culprit.  I appreciate any and all suggestions offered. You have all been super helpful. This community is one of the offerings that has made me love Canvas.

 @james_sanzin ‌, I've shared your question with the https://community.canvaslms.com/groups/grade-pass-back?sr=search&searchId=aa3b3843-0012-4d8f-99d8-b7...‌ group. If you're not yet a member of that group, you can join by clicking on the link to the group and selecting Join Group from the Actions dropdown menu at the upper right of the page. (You don't have to join the group to see the responses from there to this discussion, though.) I've also shared the question with a SIS/PowerSchool expert here in the Community.

This sounds like there are some syncing errors. Please reach out to your Canvas CSM and they should be able to review your PowerSchool Sync. Thanks!!

This usually happens with our sync when the student is missing their userid or email address in powerschool

 @james_sanzin ‌ student status can also cause students to be excluded.  Have you compared students who are left out to students who are properly integrated?  Are both students active/enabled?  Are both students actively enrolled in the course you are focused on?  I would definitely contact your CSM and ask for details about what values are required for a student to be recognized by the PowerSchool integration.
