Studio Closed Caption

I have a faculty member who is trying to upload her captions inside her Studio video. From what Canvas support has told me, if you upload captions to the Studio video inside the course, then the captions will not be reflected in other instances where the Studio Video is used. However, if the captions are uploaded to the external Studio app, then the captions will carry over to every instance that the video is used. How can I tell her that the videos in the Studio app are all master copies?
