As we continue updating the Canvas Catalog x Canvas Credentials integration, we’re excited to release a highly requested improvement: Badge Filtering on the Catalog Homepage.
This new filter helps learners quickly find listings that offer digital badges and empowers institutions to better surface the value of their learning experiences.
✨ This feature is available exclusively in the New Storefront experience and requires the Canvas Credentials integration to be enabled.
Why it matters to learners
Learners today are intentional. They’re building skills, switching careers, and stacking credentials. But finding the right opportunities, especially those that offer recognition like badges hasn’t always been easy.
With this new feature, learners can:
- Filter the Homepage to see only listings that offer Badges
- Search for specific Badges using a smart autocomplete dropdown
- Select multiple Badges to broaden results using “OR” logic
- Get helpful guidance when no listings match
It’s fast, intuitive, and puts the right opportunities within reach.
Why institutions should care
For institutions, this is more than a filter, it’s a visibility boost. If your programs issue badges, now’s the time to make them shine.
This update enables institutions to:
- Highlight micro-credentials across courses and programs
- Increase discoverability of badge-enabled offerings
- Drive higher engagement and enrollment from motivated learners
- Reinforce brand value by aligning badges with institutional goals
Try it out
Go to your institution’s Catalog Homepage. You’ll see a new “Badges” checkbox in the filter menu. Try it:
- Just click “Badges” and hit Apply to see all listings with badges
- Or type a Badge name to narrow it down
- Or select multiple Badges to see a wider range of listings
Looking for a listing with a DEI badge? Leadership? Data literacy? Now, it’s easy to find.
