Employer Site Visit
In the VET group, has anyone figured out a way to track site visits with a learner?
As an ITO/PTE our funding includes roughly four (4) one-on-one in person visits with our learners each year. And we need to track those visits to meet our funding requirements. (This is our Assessor/Teacher meeting with the Learner.)
All of the Attendance type add-ons already available are at the course level, and not helpful when each course is it's own Unit Standard.
I was thinking a workaround would be to use our SMS to track this, but would be nice for our Assessors to only need to know/login to one platform and not two. Also, the site visit coincides with marking of assessments so it makes sense to track the two together.
Any thoughts on this?

Have you thought about using a no-submission assignment? benefits of this would include:
- Assignments allow the user to have a date in their calendar.
- Assignments can be linked back to tasks in your SMS
- Students don't actually submit work BUT assessors/Trainer still have access to the Speedgrader to provide feedback/marks
- You could also create a specific "Site visit" assignment group for clear communication to the student

Hi, Not sure I have an answer however it may be worth looking into the Faculty Journal. I think this has to be turned on by your CSM (could be wrong).
It's a place where instructors can take notes about a student that the student cannot see. Any instructor can see all notes for a specific student, regardless of who made the notes, so its a record per student not per course.
Not sure if you can export the content or if its appropriate that all teachers can see the record, might be a good starting place.

Unfortunately the faculty journal isnt exportable. Alternative solutions could be a cloud based document available for both student and trainer access

This is good in theory, but I don't know what Course it would be put in (as each Unit Standard is a separate Course). The Site Visits are not Unit Standard specific. Also, not sure making a New assignment for EVERY learner 4 times a year, all with different "due" dates, is a very efficient use of time.
I still think there should be a Learner specific 'home page' with all of their contact info (would be great to put non-USA phone number in), communications, over all progress, etc. that ONLY the learner and the instructors could see. And isn't tied to any one course. **someday**
