The College & Career Readiness standards are available in enCASE. You may align local items to them, and then create classroom assessments using those items, which are located in the "School Created" item bank. This article outlines the steps for creating assessments using items aligned to the National College and Career Readiness standards.
To create an assessment using the College & Career Readiness standards, click the Assessments drop-down menu , and select Classroom .
Click the Create New Assessment button.
On the Create Assessment page, click the Subject drop-down menu and select a subject that will be the first section of the test (e.g., Language Arts, Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Science, or Social Studies). (Do not choose College and Career Readiness.)
Click the Core drop-down menu and select any of the cores available in the "National" section, which begin with NT.
Click the Class drop-down menu and select College and Career Readiness.
Optionally, select the Standard drop-down menu and select an appropriate standard.
Click the Load Items button to find appropriate items.
Enter a title for the first section of the assessment, and add the appropriate items. Refer to Creating a Classroom (Item Bank) Assessment for details.
To add another section containing items for a different subject, click the Add Section button.
Enter a title for the next section.
Return to the top of the Create Assessment page, click the Subject drop-down menu, and select a different subject .
Click the Core drop-down menu , and select a core from the "National" section.
Click the Class drop-down menu , and select College and Career Readiness.
Click the Load Items button and add items to the second section.
Continue this process for each section of the assessment
Return to the top of the Create Assessment page.
From the Subject drop-down menu , select College and Career Readiness.
From the Core drop-down menu , select NT: College and Career Readiness (2020).
After changing the Subject and Core as described above, click the Save Changes & Preview button to save and preview the assessment. Verify that all the sections and items are rendering correctly.
