When providing fill-in-the-blank answers currently we can only use close-match, exact match, or regex. Incorrect spaces between words or characters cannot easily be ignored.

While providing close-match and regex are nice additions we really need an option to ignore spaces. Using regex to programmatically ignore spaces is extremely cumbersome and is not practical for quizzes with a large number of questions or inexperienced faculty. Close-match is an alternative, however, in many scenarios being even one or two characters off can dramatically affect the quality of the answer depending on the "wrong" characters. 

Having the ability to strip an answer of spaces and evaluate it solely on the order of characters would be extremely beneficial. 

An example of this would be requiring students to cite a publication based on the provided information.

Correct Answer:

Lee, H. (1960). To kill a mockingbird. Lippincott.
