How can I turn off the traditional gradebook and only allow students to view grades by the mastery gradebook? I am trying to create assignments and use rubrics with outcomes. I want students to get feedback based upon the outcomes and not overall assignment score. If we are trying to fundmentally shift our grading to standards(outcomes) based grading, then the Canvas gradebook needs to reflect this change. Students and parents will always view the point/average system of a traditional gradebook unless we are able to force them into viewing only the mastery gradebook.

Matching / multiple drop downs work but these question types can only get to low level questioning. It will work, but I find myself designing questions that do not work within your LMS. I want students to function in more of a thinking mode (not a selection mode). Drag and drop forces them to make a predictive response based upon their knowledge and not simply selecting the best possible choice. I teach Chemistry. I want students to view a graphic (usually a particle diagram or a line graph) and make predictive behaviors or diagram trending events from the dataset.

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas It would be great to have a drag and drop question type for quizzes. You can find more information about the overall project in the Quizzes.Next User Group. Quizzes.Next is now available for all paid accounts. Quizzes.Next documentation will live in the Quizzes.Next User Group until July 14, 2018. On July 14, 2018, all of the documentation will be moved to the Canvas Guides in the Canvas Instructor Guide or Canvas Student Guide. Quizzes.Next updates will be included in the Canvas Release Notes. This includes new features, updated features, and relevant fixed bugs. New and updated features will be deployed to Quizzes.Next near the same time as the Canvas release. Fixed bugs may be deployed at any time.
