This may be nit picky, but I don't see the need for the 2-click process in the new Gradebook. When I click on a cell in the gradebook, I would expect the the right-side detail tray to appear immediately. Instead, I need to click on the cell and then click on the small arrow icon within the cell. What is the reasoning behind this extra step? One thing in the current gradebook I find frustrating is the need to hover over the cell and click the tiny icon in the upper-right corner. I also noticed some trivial odd behavior. The little pop-ups that tell you the state of the module item when you hover over does not go away unless you refresh the browser. I assume this has to do with the change from the fluffy clouds to the "circle with line through it" icon. This is happening on both Firefox and Chrome on a Mac. ... View more

It's not clear what has been updated regarding the calendar and course visibility. If a student only has their personal calendar selected (as was demonstrated in the video) then when they click on a link in the scheduler list they don't see any time slots. They instead get a message saying "No events after this date". The reason for this is the course for which that appointment signup was created is not selected on the right side. It's not intuitive for a student to select the course on the list on the right side, they (rightly) assume that if they click on a link to an appointment group, they will see a list of items to sign-up for. Hi Erin, Thanks for all your help on this. I would like some more information regarding the accessibility upgrade of the underlined hyperlinks in buttons. Thanks James, I think we'll go ahead and remove the links for our custom buttons. I did notice in beta that the standard Canvas buttons are not underlined ( for example "Save", "+ Announcement", "View All Pages" etc ). Is there a reason those buttons are not appearing as underlined as well? It seems inconsistent for there to be a distinction between custom created and Canvas created. ... View more

We create buttons using the style guide​ and the buttons don't look great with the hyperlink underline change: As you can see the lines are not aesthetically pleasing. I was able to add HTML to the first button "General Course Documents" in order remove the line. I will look into creating a css document to remove the lines, but I think the style guide should be updated so that custom buttons do not include the lines at all. Would that be possible? ... Hi Erin, Thanks for getting some more information on this. To be honest I am not sure I would call this fixed if there is at least an hour wait between marking the assignment as anonymous and then downloading the assignments. I have to think most instructors will do these two steps almost instantaneously and then assume it is not working correctly. This time lag is a major caveat and should have been mentioned in the release notes. Please let us know when the lag is reduced. Thanks again! Dan ... View more

So I did test this fix in Beta and was unable to achieve the desired result. My understanding is I should be able to: Go into SpeedGrader and make the assignment anonymous (By clicking the wheel icon and clicking the "Hide Student Names in SpeedGrader" box). When at least one student submits an assignment, I should be able to Download Submissions (either from the Assignment or the Gradebook) The zipfile which contains the student documents should have their names removed from the title of the document. I understand the names are appended for use in the re-upload feature. Either this feature is not working properly or I am misunderstanding the bug fix. ... View more

I tried Downloading Submissions from an Anonymous assignment in Beta and still see the students named appended to the documents. I tried downloading from both the Assignment page and the Gradebook. My understanding was the students names would not be appended to their files within the zipfile, but maybe I am misunderstanding the bug. ... View more
