I know that at least one large Canadian university sends people every year, as they have to use open source due to provincial regulations. Since they return each year,  I would assume it's valuable!  

I really enjoyed being in Lakeside Village, and booked there again, but using VRBO - this year I am getting a 1 bedroom for less than I paid through Keystone for a studio. Both units overlook the lake...

It is not unique to chromebooks, this issue has become widespread over the last week or so.

We are seeing this as well at my school. Chrome works fine, but Canvas is unusable in Safari.
