The top three for me are; Ability to add NQ to commons or as part of a course export. We work with a network of schools and share course writing and materials. For the last two years we have been creating NQ from scratch as you cannot export band add to another instance of Canvas. Partial marks for matching question type. Matching questions have been extensively by staff at my school in CQ and now that we are moving to NQ the workload involved in manually having to grade these questions defeats the purpose of having a self marking quiz. The RCE in NQ needs to be the same as RCE in Canvas. I have found any questions that we migrate from CQ to NQ with embedded files from the course files do not come across. We have languages courses with quizzes and embedded audio files. Currently we have to manually add all these audio files back into NQ. The current workload of having to check each submission in gradebook to see if marked is far too time consuming. When teaching across multiple courses with many students this would make keeping track of what students have completed a very simple task. A brilliant idea!  ... View more

As our online learning coordinator I have been encouraging staff to move to new quizzes as in APAC we have until the end of 2022 until classic quizzes are no longer. One of the biggest hurdles is the no partial credit for matching. I have staff that have move to new quizzes, move back to classic. They list issues as follows, having to go into every quiz and mark to give partial credit is time consuming and something they have never had to do with classic, students are put off as a mark of zero shows up in their marks, we have observer accounts for students and the quiz results cannot be seen by observers so a mark of zero leads many observers (parents or supervising teachers) to call to find out why marks are so poor. These alone are causing increased workload for teachers and I can understand why they do not want to move to new quizzes. As an admin, I have been working hard to convince staff that new quizzes is a better overall tool than classic. This is extremely hard when matching questions do not allow partial credit. We have had cases of students dropping courses as they are frustrated that they are given a zero score and this is only correctly by teachers manually checking all quizzes individually. Staff tell me this is a large waste of time and they are staying with classic quizzes due to the reduced workload. With the latest release on 19th June, I have found that all admins in our instance have access to all item banks. In our instance we have subaccounts for our teaching faculties, so for music, history, english etc and these each have an admin that has access to their own courses and can delete create content etc. So now the admin for a faculty has access to item banks of questions in all faculties and can change or delete these item banks. In the Q & A you stated that  " Will it be possible to separate banks by subaccount? We won’t support subaccounts as separate from accounts initially. These will need to be managed manually by coordination by admins at account level. There are some upsides and downsides to this approach." So how do you stop access to admins of one subaccount accessing item banks from another? I have heads of faculties which will not be happy about them not having control over their item banks. ... As an admin at my school and being part of a distance education schools network, the biggest issue we have with new quizzes is the lack of ability to export from one Canvas instance to another. We have networks of teachers from different schools that share content and course writing responsibilities which has been a huge positive of all schools using Canvas as their LMS. Currently if one course needs to be exported from one instance to another teachers need to create each new quiz in their own instance. For some courses this results in days of work if there are a large number of quizzes. As a positive our students all love the look of new quizzes and are happy with the product as a student. Incorporating the RCE, ability to print and partial credit are features I hope start to be enabled as these will make my teachers more happy to use new quizzes. ... View more
