One time I ate an old ham sandwich while flying into a combat zone. That meal didn’t sit too well, which made the flight uneasier than necessary. Tackling new tasks, even if they make me uncomfortable, is something I learned in the military. Always eat the sandwich, move on. Another big bite for me was English and Speech class. I dreaded taking them but ended up loving these courses and finished my first three degrees in the military before retirement.
After starting at SIC, I earned a Master’s degree in Information Systems but I wanted to digest something more. So I took a bite, and finished another Masters; this one was in English and Creative Writing. Today, I am the college’s Distance Learning Specialist and a married father of four who isn’t afraid to eat old food.
