Near the end of each course, we receive many emails form students asking us to double-check that they have completed all of their assignments. We tell them it is their responsibility to check their grades page and make sure every assignment shows a checkmark or a numeric score and that if they have an X or a dash, something is still missing or incomplete. However, we still get emails asking if we can check for them, and we simply do not have the time and resources to do this for all of our students. Is there a feature in Canvas currently available that would show confetti on the Grades page only when ALL assignments show as complete. I know this can be done for ontime submissions, but I am looking for an END OF COURSE/EVERYTHING IS COMPLETE feature, not an individual assignment feature. Or, is there another feature that would allow something like this?

FOr a very simple solution - create an excel or google sheet with First Name, Last Name, and Email Address as separate columns. Then copy and paste all three columns at one time and paste into the email address area on the People > + People pop-up page. Click Next, check the box next to name in the top line of the new pop-up box and the names will appear - they may look wonky, but they will correct on the next pop-up. We upload 200-300 new students every 2 weeks to one of a dozen courses. Is there a way to import only First Name, Last Name, and email address into Canvas through a CSV file? The only things I can find require additional information such as user ID, which we do not assign/have in our CSV files. I'm looking to just upload names and email addresses and then have course invites sent via email through Canvas. Thanks for any insight!

Our institution does not allow students to access course content after a course ends. Is there a setting that will allow students to view their course grades after the course concludes without also allowing them to view the course content? Going to Courses>All Courses>Past Enrollments does not show concluded courses nor grades.

We recently began using New Quizzes and two BIG things stand out. 1. When a new quiz is used in a course blueprint and the quizzes are published in the Blueprint, the associated courses do NOT have the quizzes published automatically. The teacher must go in and republish each and every new quiz for every associated course. As you can imagine, this creates an extra step for each course. For institutions like ours that allow enrollment every two weeks, this means opening each new course and publishing 20+ quizzes per course. 2. From the student perspective, the quiz is less user-friendly. There are a lot of extra steps. Submit, Confirm Submission, Return, Next to get to the next assignment. The quiz always asks if the student wants to retake it even if they meet the minimum score - this is confusing to some students. It feels like a lot of extra steps and the screen is too busy.

This continues to be an issue for our institution. Students use a screenshot to try and "prove" that they earned a higher grade because they had the Calculate based only on graded assignments box checked. It creates too much confusion and too many heated discussions.

Thank you for your reply. Is there a way to change the "No Preview Available" message to a custom message? Or, is there a way to redirect students to the assignment so they do not see that message? We get so many questions about this.

We suggest that our learners periodically check their grades from the Grades page. When they find that an assignment is incomplete/ungraded, they often try to enter the assignment from the link on the Grades page. However, in doing so, the assignment appears as "No Preview Available". They have to return to the Home page and open the assignment there. Is there a way to change the "No Preview Available" to a message that says "Return to the Home page to open this assignment."? Or, is there a way to add a note to the top of the Grades page that says something similar. Our instructors field several questions telling learners to enter the assignment from the Home page instead of the Grades page, and we would rather have them focus on teaching the course content instead. Thanks!

We are experiencing the same thing as mentioned - every time an instructor opens something on the To-Do List, a new tab is open. This is incredibly cumbersome for our team. We have hundreds of students enrolling every 2 weeks, so you can imagine the number of assignments that are turned in daily. Opening new tabs is frustrating my instructor team Please, please turn this feature off or make it optional. While we all appreciate the updates the Canvas team makes, please be sure to beta test with users, poll users, or allow us to customize things to suite our needs.
