When a teacher creates an assignment, a due time is displayed on the Assignments link. Canvas uses the term "at" to describe when an assignment is due, such as "Due Aug 19 at 6pm." Canvas also displays the term "at" to reflect the assignment submission timestamp in the Speedgrader. In Speedgrader, the timestamp is displayed as "Aug 19 at 6pm LATE."
When an assignment is submitted within the minute of the due time, it is considered late. It does not make sense. The assignment is due at 6pm and late at 6pm.
Instead, change the term used to describe the assignment due time on the Assignments link. Instead of due "at," use due "by" or even better due "before."
Thanks!
