Hi @greydon and thanks for your answer. However, I can't see that modules with requirements/prerequisites can help me. As I understand the how-to's you linked in, it is up to the student to mark a requirement as fulfilled. It is not possible for the teacher to manually enter a grade to fulfill a requirement. And even if I create an assignment for the self sign up groups, I still have to make them visible for all under people -> Groups, don't I? And there is nothing stopping the students to do the sign-in there, regardless of the module-setings? Or am I missing out on something here?

Hi, I have a Canvas room with a total of 72 students. Some of the students (the ones passing the last assessment) are ready for some lab work. It is 40 of the students who are ready for the lab. I want them to join two-and-two in lab-groups, but only the once passing the last assessment. How can I do that? I have tried to create a group set, allowing the students to self sign-up. I have then placed the once not ready for lab in one “Waitingroom”-group, and created 20 groups for the 40 students ready for lab. But I have no control of the once placed in the “waitingroom”! They can easily change group to one of the lab-groups. Is there another way to do this? Is there a way to lock the waitingroom? I hope someone out there have a good solution!
