The Canvas Training Portal advertises that there should be a Canvas Studio button on the RCE toolbar, with the standard Canvas Studio icon, but the button is not present on the new RCE toolbar. Instead, you must click the "apps" button and the locate Studio from a list. Since Studio is deeply integrated with Canvas, it would be ideal to show the Studio button as a standalone on the new RCE toolbar.

Could we have an outcome aligned to more assignment types, such as External tool assignments? That would really open up outcome usage in our courses. Outcome separate from grading.

I am in the same boat, @jeneen_hill. I would like to record as a teacher, but it wants me to download "Screen Capture Application." I do this, but it is a dmg file, not compatible with ios device. Does anyone else know how to do this as a teacher? Thanks!

Fantastic. Coincidentally, I was having a Zoom conference today with one of our university's instructional support staff and I asked how best to organize my dozens of Studio videos since they didn't have folders to help with organization. She did a screen share and noticed the new collections button, so we explored it's function. We had a little celebration together when we realized what it did!

Hi everyone. We are planning to run an online orientation in Canvas for our students. As part of the orientation, students have to complete 7 automatically graded quizzes. To be clear, we do not need to use Speedgrader. If the students score 80% or above on these quizzes, they are considered to have completed the Orientation. No discussions. No need to look at Analytics. We estimate that there will be 3,000 students and we envision a sort of rolling admissions to the course. Based on my reading of the community topics, I do not foresee any major problems, but I wanted to check with the community to make sure I am advising my institution correctly. I have read: Best Practices for Large Courses in Canvas and https://community.canvaslms.com/thread/23785-large-course-management-sectionsgroups . For the record, I do not see any need to do sections here. My questions are these: + Will Canvas break in the above scenario. + If we reach a certain threshold (3,000 students), will Canvas not be able to accept new quiz responses? Would we not be able to see Grades? + If I am missing something or if there is a better way that just having a normal Canvas course with 3,000 students, please let me know. Any recommendations or work arounds are welcome! Thank you!

Hi Jesse, It looks like there follow menu is not there, probably need to alert support about it. Normally you could click that and follow via RSS, email, SMS, or other things. Our University uses Slack so I have a specific channel that has status feeds for services we use posting to that channel so we can watch that. In this release, Arc has been renamed Studio. Additionally, in this release, users can subscribe to video comment notifications. Arc is an online video platform that makes learning more impactful through active collaboration. Learn more about Arc. New Features < BACK TO TABLE OF CONTENTS Comments Comment Notifications Users can subscribe to video comments in the Comments tab. Instructors can receive email notifications to their default email address when a comment is posted to a video. Comment authors can also receive an email notification to their default email address when a user replies to their comment. When an instructor or author enables the Subscribe to Comments option, they will receive an email notification when a new comment is posted to the video. When a user posts a video comment, they can click the Subscribe icon to receive email notifications when a reply is posted to their comment. Other Updates < BACK TO TABLE OF CONTENTS Product Name Arc is now Studio Arc has been renamed Studio. Users can now access the Canvas video LTI from the Studio icon. Admins and authors can also access their Studio account from the Studio site. All icon and link names are now Studio icons and links. Admin users should update the name for the Studio App integration in the Account Settings Apps tab.

Hello Jesse. There is not a way to turn off comments by default in Arc.
