I graduated from Spokane Falls Community College with an A.A. Direct Transfer in Education. After my tenure at SFCC, I transferred to Eastern and earned a B.A.E. in Secondary English Education with a WA State Teaching Certificate. I also hold an emergency certification for Special Education in Washington State. I am currently the newest member of the eLearning team for the Community Colleges of Spokane, working as the an eLearning Instructional Designer. I have 20 plus years of experience in the teaching and training fields. I have worked with many different populations of learners from at risk youth to Adult Learners and everyone in between. My experience includes physical classroom experience, alternative learning experience and corporate training. My most recent experience with online curriculum was working as lead Technical Support Specialist. In my job at Spokane Virtual Learning, much of my work was assisting the online teachers with many different aspects of online teaching and development. I also worked as part of the technical support team troubleshooting both the front end functions and backed function in the Blackboard LMS. I often helped evaluate students' understanding of content and course accessibility just to name a few things. One of my favorite parts of helping teachers with online development was overcoming the challenges of translating lessons from the physical classroom to the virtual classroom and making them engaging. I am married and I have five daughters ranging from 6 years old to 29 years old. I am also the mother to an 80lb Black Lab named Jack-Jack. I like to hike, work-out and ride my bike to work when I can. I am currently learning Interior Salish (Colville Dialect) and absolutely love it. I have a love for learning and have many things that I am learning like how to kayak and I plan to learn to sail.
