It would be great to have a glossary tool built into RCE/Canvas
The example I saw today was when a Māori word is used in a sentence (or example whakamana) in describing a principle or activity would be good to have the ability to hover or click and see the definition for that term.

Hi Marissa, what's happening with exporting of grades? This is essential functionality and I had a question today about it being a key feature for continuing to use Classic Quizzes: Can export results to excel sheet for careful analysis, cannot do this on New Quizzes (NQs). We use this for grades data entry and for the questions we have to mark manually. It’s just a quick and easy way to view everything at the same time. There were some other concerns with New Quizzes as well: In the Classic Quizzes quiz log, you can track when a student has looked away from quiz page to another page/program on their computer. Great for exam security. On NQs, you can only see what the learner has typed for their answer or which answers they have selected and when. In Classic Quizzes you can have a quiz without questions: our listening quiz has a video and slides that students must view first and then the quiz locks and they go on to answer the questions in a different quiz afterwards. In NQs, you must attach a question to a “stimulus”, which is inconvenient. If we could find a workaround in which the quiz stimuli and questions are presented on different pages of the same quiz and learners are blocked from moving backwards in the quiz to the previous page, this could work. In Classic Quizzes you can extend time on a quiz that a student is currently taking. This is handy for when they have internet issues, and something hasn’t loaded properly, and you just want to give them more time. On NQs, from what I can tell and have read on the Canvas community, this is not possible. We did trial using NQs for our writing exams last year for one term but for this reason, we switched back to Classic Quizzes. You can only give a student extra time before they have started the quiz, which is not what we need.

Hello I can't find any documentation on the limits on questions or attempts for New Quizzes 'Quiz and Item Analysis' reports. Has the limit of 100 questions been increased?

We had to amend our processes for exam alternatives using Canvas due to this issue. We did not expect notifications to go out that included link to content to students when content was set to limited visibility. Our workaround was to ensure multiple files were imported as part of assessment so that a generic notification would be generated ("2 files have been uploaded").

Hi Jayde, we are also experiencing issues with students submitting at the last moment (even though our instructions say to submit earlier than cut off). We have decided to implement a short grace period to allow for technical issues during submission by extending the availability date past the due date (the assessment will also be flagged as Late). I agree that the message to try to submit again is not helpful if the assignment has closed and should be updated.

For large courses this is an issue as there is nothing in Speedgrader to prevent markers from trying to grade the same student - however only the latest submitted grades are saved. We have created our own tool to enable concurrent grading when using rubrics which avoids accidentally grading the same student. Would really love to see this as part of the core Speedgrader tool. Especially important the move to digital assessments replacing Exams in response to COVID-19.

We have been asked about this and to meet the need have developed a tool to extract discussion posts and submit to Turnitin.com but this is not ideal. Would like to see some options around using Turnitin with Graded Discussions.

Yes we have been asked about this several times especially in response to digital assessments replacing exams due to COVID. This is especially for Essay questions in New Quizzes

We currently use Piazza due to the lack of anonymous posting on Canvas discussions. With the recent changes in Piazza requiring students to register it would be great to see anonymous posting as an option in Discussions. Where possible I would prefer to use out of the box functionality.

We had a case that a course with 800 submissions was not able to load in speedgrader with error: "Something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page. If the problem persists, there may be too many records on "First Contact - Your Future" to load SpeedGrader." The workaround was accessing via sections only but we would like an interim solution as well as a long term solution for this issue. We are using both the old and new integrations with TurnItIn.

Currently the main reason for using Piazza is due to the anonymous posting option (students do not want to ask 'dumb' questions). When can this be included as part of Canvas Discussions so it works natively within Canvas? If there could be an option to allow anonymous posts enabled at Course Level it would give Teachers the option to use this for their class.

My expectation as a Teacher would be to see a summary of students who have interacted with the content, then a list of students who have not engaged/interacted with the content. I agree that clicking on students one by one to view this information is poor user experience design and extremely time consuming. Providing an export with the detailed information per student is one way of solving this problem.
