For some reason my android tablet (kindle) does not work with Canvas. I am wondering if it is a because of a setting on my device? I do have chrome and it still is not happy. If you know what I am doing please advise. Thank you

Hi Kimberli Martin...
I wanted to check in with you since we have not heard from you since your May 9 posting. Has Anthony Bunag's response been helpful? Have you been able to get Canvas to work on your Kindle device? If you could, please come back here to post an update...even if you are still looking for help/ideas. Thanks Kimberli.
Were you able to find an answer to your question? I am going to go ahead and mark this question as answered because there hasn't been any more activity in a while so I assume that you have the information that you need. If you still have a question about this or if you have information that you would like to share with the community, by all means, please do come back and leave a comment.
Robbie

Maybe this is not the canvas I am needing... Our school uses something
called canvas for online courses and I can use it on my iPhone and on my PC
and work lap top but have not been able to figure it out on the kindle

How can a comment that says "no it doesn't work" be found as helpful? I must not understand the language that is being used in here...
The helpful part was you returning to let us know you still needed assistance. I do not own a Kindel tablet but as I understand it they do not come with the Google Play Store which is what you need to access the Canvas app in the recommended fashion. Your best bet from your tablet should be using the Chrome web browser, which you mentioned you have. Can you tell us how you're trying to log in to Canvas? What link are you clicking on or URL are you going to? Then what happens when you get there, if you do. If you can provide any screenshots of what this looks like that would also be incredibly helpful.
As best I can tell, it looks like the URL for your institution's instance of Canvas is at https://midland.instructure.com/login/canvas I was able to successfully get to the login page from my Android phone using the Chrome web browser.
Kindle Fire tablets come with a custom browser called the Silk Browser; it is not Chrome. Having said that, I grabbed my son's Amazon Fire Tablet and logged into Canvas with the browser. I looked around and replied to some discussion posts. It is usable for light Canvasing.
Kimberli Martin, what is the specific model of your Kindle, and can you describe what you are trying to do and what happens when you try to do it?
i will do my best to help.
I just tried it using the silk and it worked!!!! Yeah!!! Thank you

Yes, we can access canvas via a browser but the point of accessing canvas on a mobile device would be that this access would happen via a mobile app optimised for mobile access (like we can on Android and iOS). Are there plans to have a mobile app available to use with an Amazon Fire Tablet? Same as the Android app (both for Teacher and Student).
Hi Pedro
Someone else inquired about the Kindle Fire today, and Renee Carney shared some feedback from the Canvas Product teams about this. Check it out at https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/11831-amazon-fire-tablet-mobile-app?commentID=120330#comment-120330
I hope this helps.
