White Space in Discussion Topics

I noticed today that there is a lot of unused white space when drilling down to the actual content of a Discussion topic.  See this example...

Here's the "Discussion" page...notice no white space.Discussion1.jpg

Here's a view of the details of a Discussion topic.

I'm not sure why this white space exists or cannot be filled in with content.  Why not widen the discussion area to fill in the white space?  Is there CSS or JS code that could be added to fill in this white space?  Would adding code to our global files affect those with smaller screens?

Hey, Chris,

Sorry that you hadn't received a reply to this question yet. The white space is a placeholder for the content selector sidebar. When a user replies to the discussion the sidebar displays in the page.

Hope that helps,

Erin
