My university does not currently have a single sign-on, but there is a big initiative to move a number of documents within the student/employee portal. The problem is that if a student has not previously logged into their portal, and they click on the link within Canvas - they get a non-branded authentication pop-up.
Is there a way implement a check to determine if a student is in fact logged into their portal, and if not, they are directed to the actual log-in page?
I know that the easy way out would be hosting the documents on our public www side, or even in Google Drive/Dropbox. But that doesn't seem to be the preferred method.
