When creating an Outcome, I would like to add criteria to the Learning Mastery rubric. Is this possible?
I can't say that I am an absolute expert, but I don't think that is how Outcomes are designed to work.
An "outcome" is a criteria, with respect to measuring student mastery as it pertains to accreditation.
Each program should have very carefully crafted language defining what the student should be able to do, and how it will be measured. Those documents should be used to create the learning outcomes, and those learning outcomes should be associated with very specific units of work that measure the students mastery of the goal defined by the outcome.
It is possible to use outcomes as grading criteria in a rubric, but then you need to ask yourself, if this is truly an outcome, why do I need multiple criteria? Should I simply be using a rubric?
You should also note that when you add an "outcome" to a "rubric", it creates a new "criteria" line item in the rubric, reinforcing the idea that an "outcome" is a "criteria".
Can you give more information about what you are trying to achieve? I may not really understand your use case.
This is a good topic for discussion, I hope others will chime in. I am currently working on building an outcomes library for higher ed and would love to hear feedback from others.
