With the popularity of the game over the weekend, who's planning on hunting pokemon around the Keystone Resort next week?
Yes! I had to use my Google account to sign up as the built-in system was too busy. So... personal or professional Google account? Your question on the InstructureCon discussion helped me make the decision.
I just caught my first one, a charmander. I can see that hunting pokemon will be good for my step count, bad for my phone battery, and a fun way to meet people.
I'm most definitely in for that. For the rest of you, this is how you'll spot us.
Sulzer Scott ServiceAccount has me signed up & ready to go! See you all there!
Already a level 13 trainer...And yes I will be hunting in Keystone!
I just started yesterday and looking forward to it.
I am! Gotta catch 'em all, you know.
Of course! We gotta catch 'em all!
I'm curious to see if the Pokemon are any different up in the mountains of Colorado. Should be fun.
I'm so excited! Mountain type Pokemon and Team Valor #FTW!
Ready to conquer for #TeamValor!
I think the more important question is how many Pokestops and Gyms are there around Keystone? I live in an area with hardly anything so I can only play once i go into town for work or errands. Would be nice to know that we have plenty of places to battle and refuel when needed.
Sadly, it looks like there are only a few pokestops near the conference area and no obvious gyms. There is Adventure Fountain, Underground Forest, Incline Trail, and Star Falcon Tunnel near the conference area. There are several others further away, but I haven't spotted anything that might be a gym nearby. There is an amphitheater not too far away, so perhaps that or the ice rink could be the closest gym.
Yup, I took a sneak at Ingress's map which Pokemon Go uses. (Stock up on Pokeballs before you go!)
That's exactly what I did. I wish they'd release a PG version of the intel map.
Glad I rented a car for the conference! Have Pokemon GO, will travel.
I'll be playing, too. I consider it research into Augmented Reality.
I'm sure I will be attempting to catch a Pokémon or two while I'm there!
Team Instinct ready and reporting for duty--right Aimee and Beth? Looking forward to catching some rock pokemon!
Woo hoo! Team Instinct!
Go Team Instinct!
Let's hope the long drive out also brings in some interesting Pokemon. Not sure what Texas panhandle Pokemon might look like. Or bored to death long drive Pokemon will be.
I'm in. I'll wait to join a team until we arrive. Is there a team Canvas?
This will be interesting if everyone who shows up is on Team Instinct. Go yellow!
Count me in! Excited to see the local fauna...
Go Team Mystic!
I created an informal poll in the I Heart Panda's group so that we can get a better idea of how many players from each team are going to be represented at InstructureCon.
Which is your Pokémon GO team?
(Go Team Instinct)
All of you Pokemon Go Fans... Keep an eye on Instcon16 Community Fun ..... just say-in
Sure! My kids would love expect me to search for Pokemon while I am in Colorado. I may be going to a conference, but I also have fatherly duties to fulfill!
Go team Valor!
Go team Mystic!!!!
Anyone else see is limited-edition digital merit badge for InstCon?
I am very excited to be catching community points and badges as well!
This sounds like so much fun!
I am definitely in for this. TeamInstinct!
I added a Pandamon Go marker based on snapping an AR Pokemon Go picture.
Post your Best Pokemon Picture at Camp
Saw lots of pokestops by river run
Hey guys we'll be setting lures at the pokéstop next to the Adventure Center during lunch today (Wednesday). So Grab your food then come hang out and catch 'em all!
Much love to my Instinct players, holding down the Keystone Bison tonight.
I met so many fantastic people through this game at Instructurecon. How many of my fellow Instructrecon attendees are keeping up with their Pokemon catching? Any interesting finds? What level are you?
I've caught them all -- or at least all that are in the game so far. But then again, I bent the system to my will.
I can understand that. I've started using a radar tool (during this morning's walk), but enjoying the exercise gamification too much to do the GPS tricks
I have periods of intense interest, usually when I am on central campus or the U-M medical campus, where there are tons of Pokestops.
Around my office, a block from the Big House, there are only two stops and not a lot of rare sightings. There are actually a number of Pokestops inside Michigan Stadium, but it's only open to the public during events, so it's not exactly a lunch hour walk.
So I haven't actually opened it for a couple of days. I just hit Level 14 a couple days ago by doing the start-a-lucky-egg-spend-half-an-hour-evolving-a-bunch-of-your-creatures thing. I also try to remember to open it when I know I will be walking for a bit, to try to hatch some of the found eggs.
But most of mine are still too weak to take on anything at the gyms around here, so I haven't really battled yet. I have, like, a zillion potions and a dozen Pokeballs.
Very cool. I recently hit level 27 doing very similar things. Yesterday my son and I went to a beach on Lake Michigan that was loaded with Pokemon and stops. One place on the beach had well over 100 people playing and 5-6 critters spawned at all times. Pretty neat.
